MFL - 11. október 2006 SR vs Björninn - Í Laugardalnum
We came back from our first loss of the year more focussed and ready to
play. We introduced our new defenceman Daniel Kolar who played very well in
his debut game with 2 goals and 2 assists. Goal scorers besides Daniel
included Todd Simpson, Mirek Krivanek, Ţorhallur Viđarsson and Kári Valsson.
We played a strong game for two periods and with our comfortable lead we
relaxed too much and Björninn came back to score 4 goals in 8 minutes. We
struggled to hang on to our lead and were fortunate to end with a 9 - 7 win.
Honourable mentions have to include Ţorhallur who came back from an injury
and played a strong game. SR welcomed Björninn´s new Coach Jukka to
Icelandic hockey.

MFL - 17. október SR vs Björninn - Í Egilshöll
We knew Björninn was going to come in fired up and ready to work hard and
they did for the first period winning the period 3 to 1. It was really good
hockey, back and forth with SR outshooting 13 to 8 and with 1 minute 50
seconds remaining in the period we just went to sleep and Björninn scored
two quick goals. Second period we outshot them 14 to 8. scoring twice and
then with about 8 minutes left in the period Björninn lost their focus and
started taking a lot of penalties. For the remainder of the game and into
the third period Björninn recorded 45 minutes in penalties giving us an 8
minute 5 on 3. Despite a lot of delays and a three hour game we managed to
win the game with a final score of 7 - 3. On this night our specialty
teams played very well scoring all 7 goals. Goal scorers and assists were:

We had a strong performance from our younger players Steinar Páll
Veigarsson, Ţorsteinn Björnsson, Svavar Rúnarsson, Egill Ţormóđsson and
Petur Maack. This was the first game for new forward Petr Krivanek and he
played well. Our defence played very well and we welcomed back star
goaltender Birgir Orn Sveinsson who won his 16th consecutive game!
